Tiger Woods married Elin Nordegren on October 5, 2004 at the 19th hole of the Green Monkey golf course at the Sandy Lane Resort located in the Caribbean island nation of Barbados. Known for highly valuing their privacy, Woods booked the entire resort, including the hotel, golf courses, and clubhouses for an entire week, while also booking every chopper in Barbados to prevent them from being used by photographers. Woods spent an estimated two million for the ceremony, which was attended by over 100 guests, including basketball legends Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley, as well as Microsoft mogul Bill Gates. 500 red roses were reported to have been flown in for the occasion, with Hootie and the Blowfish entertaining the guests at the after-party. The couple then spent their first night as husband and wife on the yacht, “Privacy.”
