He did it again! This time, A.C. Gilbert invented a chemistry set that included super fun instructions for making jet fuel and poison, just in case you didn’t like your neighbor. Joking aside, the fact that this particular chemistry set was so much like an actual adult one, including chemicals like sodium cyanide, and didn’t worry parents back then is more proof that parenting was way different in the 50s than any of the helicopter parenting going on now. But you can’t blame parents these days, they just want to make sure that their kids live to see another day and don’t actually blow up the house while they’re out doing errands.
