This is a definite human rights fight if we ever did see one, and not just for the LGBTQ community. Aside from the fact that this hairdresser kit reads “Grow Up to Be Gay,” if the words on the kit make us feel anything, it’s absolute disgust for such homophobic jargon. It also hints at the idea that all male gay men will grow up to be hairdressers. Sadly, this was reused and rebranded in a misguided career-series that included others like a figure skater, fashion designer and waiter. If any toy company attempted to release this today, there is no way it would ever get put up on any shelf.
