Very much like valerian root, fresh lavender that’s made into essential oils has been used for many years for various reasons. Lavender is best known for its calming effects, but unlike valerian, it doesn’t necessarily make you sleepy. It can be diffused, used in room and linen sprays, put in lotions and many other forms. It also helps relieve anxiety, which can than help lighten feelings of depression and give an overall feeling of relaxation.
