14. Increase Folate or Methylfolate

Folate, or Methylfolate, is more commonly known as Vitamin B9. Folate is actually used by the body to make DNA, help cells divide and make healthy red blood cells. Because some people’s bodies cannot metabolize folate properly, they require supplements of Vitamin B9 to help them, and when taken in line with certain antidepressants, it even improves their effectiveness. Aside from supplements, you can also eat food that is high in folate to help the overall combat against depression.
