She became quite famous back in the 50s and 60s after starring in a number of European movies. Her popularity brought it her to America where her career soared, making a record-breaking 47 films and recording up to 60 songs. Towards the end of her career, she decided to settle down in St. Tropez, doing charity work by starting the Foundation for the Protection of Distressed Animals and using her platform as a celebrity to gain popularity for her cause.
