The “Wonder-full” Lynda Carter

This Wonder Woman actress was another gorgeous “goddess” of the 70s. Surely lots of teenage boys (and girls) had a Wonder Woman poster on their bedroom walls. It is not surprising that she was chosen to play the super heroine, her good looks and sexy figure showcased by the costume for the character was what made the series popular. She was a beauty queen, winning Miss world USA representing her state, Arizona. In 1972 at the international Miss World, she reached the top 15. And she sings as well, being part of a band when she was just 16 years old. Playing Wonder Woman was what Lynda Carter was popularly known for, although some say it was not only a blessing, but a curse. Carter explained she never wanted to be a sex object, and never played her role to allude to it, yet many jealous wives surely hated her for how their husbands were so engrossed with the series (though it lasted only 3 seasons). “I hate men looking at me and thinking what they think. And I know what they think. They write and tell me,” she said in an interview. Well, that’s fan mail for you, or rather fan-male.
