The Luscious Linda Ronstadt

History Daily

Linda Ronstadt used to be the front man for the band Stone Poneys back in the 60s, but she eventually struck gold when she decided to go solo. She knew she always wanted to be a singer, explaining, “I never knew, one way or the other, if I could sing or not sing or be a professional singer. I just sang. There’s a real difference between that, and I don’t know how to explain it. I just couldn’t stop singing. I knew that I was a singer. I didn’t know that I was a star or that I was successful or that I was a professional. When I was 6 years old, or even 3 years old, I knew I was a singer.”
