While she may not be the girl from Ipanema, In the 70s when she passed by people went “Ahh.” and why wouldn’t they? This tall (about 6 feet tall) and gorgeous girl was a young pageant queen, winning Miss California in 1969, and tied for second runner-up for Miss America in the same year. While she became known because of commercials, particularly her Muriel Cigar commercial (where she sang), It was her role in Cannonball Run II that elevated her to stardom. She was also a good singer, with hits in the country charts. She also had a curious romance with British film actor Dudley Moore in the 1980s, which many found interesting since Moore was a puny 5 foot two to Susan’s 6 feet. But love knows no bounds as they say. Anton currently resides in Las Vegas, and continues to have singing shows.
