Finally, Swango’s shady activities caught up with him. It may have been years, but as they say, the guilty need to be eventually punished. On August 23, 1985, he was convicted of aggravated battery and sentenced to a measly five years behind bars. People reacted and gave a scathing review to the hospitals that should have looked into his case more thoroughly. Prosecutors also considered charging him for murder. Unfortunately, there wasn’t enough evidence available back then. The major accusations were only backed by assumptions made by those who worked with him.
