Jack Ma was a former English teacher, and is co-founder and chairman of Alibaba Group. He has been one of the richest men in Asia for some time, but only recently made it to the top 20 of the world’s richest. In September of 2019, he stepped down as Alibaba’s executive chairman for CEO Daniel Zhang. Alibaba’s 2014 IPO in New York set a record as the world’s biggest public stock offering, raising $25 billion. Jack Ma was actually rejected from several jobs, including KFC when it first opened in China. He also invested in the Chinese entertainment industry in companies like Huayi Brothers and Beijing Enlight Media. He resides in Hangzhou, China, and is just 55 years old. He happens to also own a vineyard in France.
