This billionaire is considered to be the best investor of the 20th century. He filed his first tax return in 1944 at the age of 14, declaring his income from his boyhood paper route. He is popularly known as “The Oracle of Omaha” due to his penchant for value investing – finding bargains in undervalued companies. He first bought shares in a textile company in 1962. The company was Berkshire Hathaway, and by 1965, Buffett became the majority shareholder. Unlike most investors who invest in social media companies, Buffett has repeatedly declared that it’s too difficult to determine their value, and would rather invest in companies he believes will pay off 10 years down the road. Seems to have worked well for him. He is also known for his frugality, and he has given much of his fortune to charity.
