Jim Walton is the youngest son of Walmart founder Sam Walton.Walmart is the world’s largest retail chain. He was on the board of directors for over a decade, before passing his seat on to his son, Steuart, in 2016. Jim is also CEO of his own company, Arvest Bank. The Walton heirs collectively own half of Walmart’s stocks. Jim gave away $1.2 billion in Walmart stock in June 2019, but remains the richest Walton due to his 44% stake in Arvest Bank. He and sister Alice are undertaking a program that will issue $300 million in bonds to help charter schools invest in facilities. He majored in business administration at the University of Arkansas.
