This Spanish entrepreneur is the founder of the Inditex fashion group which owns Zara, one of the most popular clothing chains around the globe. Recently, he lost about $11 billion from his net worth, but is steadily regaining it. He earns more than $400 million in dividends every year. He was born in Leon, Spain, on March 28, 1936. His first job was as a shop hand for a local shirtmaker called Gala. By 1972, he founded Confecciones Goa, to sell quilted bathrobes. A few years later, he opened his first Zara outlet with his wife Rosalia Mera. The rest is history, as they say. There are around 6,000 stores worldwide, and other brands include Oysho, Massimo Dutti, Pull and Bear, Tempe, and Bershka and Stradivarius, to name a few. By 2016, he owned 60% of Inditex.
