Larry Page sat at the helm of Alphabet (until December 2019), the parent company of Google. He co-founded Google in a garage back in 1998, with fellow Stanford PhD student Sergey Brin. He was Google’s first CEO until 2001. After serving as president of products, he took the CEO position once more in 2011. Google is without doubt the most successful search engine in the world, and the company continues to grow with various acquisitions such as YouTube. Page also heads the healthcare division Calico, smart home appliances division Nest, and more. He is a founding investor in the space exploration company Planetary Resources, and funds “flying car” startups Kittyhawk and Opener. He has avoided public appearances since Sundar Pichai became Google’s CEO.
