Never Be Ashamed To Bargain

Like most Asian countries, bargaining is expected, but not in the mall shops or supermarkets. Use your bargaining skills in outdoor markets and shops. Never take the quoted price as final. You may start bargaining at half the price it is tagged with, until you reach an agreed price. Make sure you and the storeperson understand the final price agreed upon. If no agreement is reached, politely thank them and walk away. There will be other stores with the same item that may be more appreciative of your money. But generally, the items in China are dirt cheap, but bargaining will not hurt.
