Never Forget Proper Etiquette When Using Chopsticks

First of all, remember these are eating utensils. They are not to be played around with (like using them as drumsticks on the table). Also you don’t use them to point at people. Most serious to consider and remember is not to stick the chopsticks upright in your bowl of rice when resting. It resembles incense being burnt at funerals, and the Chinese are very superstitious especially about anything to do with death. Just rest the chopsticks horizontally atop your plate or bowl. Also when serving from a dish, don’t use the chopsticks you use to feed yourself. Usually, there are serving chopsticks provided. Some places may serve spoons and forks, particularly if it is tourist friendly.
