Don’t Be A Victim Of Scams

Aside from illegal taxis, there are some scams to watch out for in China, particularly Beijing, the sprawling capital city. Foreigners are sometimes given a different menu in some restaurants. Not because they are in English (they are not usually), but because they are priced differently. Most items will be at least double the price of the same offered to locals. There is also the tea house scam where a beautiful lady (if you are a male) will invite you to have tea at a teahouse. But they are employed by the teahouse, and your bill will be ridiculously overcharged. Then there are the scalpers, fake beggars, and con-men. So do be careful, and have your wits about you.
