Never Enter A Swimming Pool Without Showering First

All the pools in Iceland are thermally heated, in case you were wondering. Nice warm water in a cool, temperate place. However, there are certain rules to follow before you can enjoy this attraction. There is really nothing special about showering before taking a dip. But in Iceland, you are supposed to do it completely naked. Shower attendants are present to make sure you clean yourself (soaping is a must) before going into the pool. There is no escaping this rule. They are very strict with cleanliness and personal hygiene. So if it bothers you to shower in the flesh in front of other people, well you won’t be able to experience a really nice, and one-of-a-kind pool dip. The thing is, you can put on your swimsuit before you enter the pool. Public nudity is not the norm in Iceland.
