Never Take Photos Of Locals Without Their Permission

This is plain courtesy anywhere on the planet. Before you take a photo of a person you don’t know, it is the polite thing to do to ask permission first. Most tourists think they can just photograph anything and anybody. Locals in Iceland will take this very offensively, and you will be asking for trouble. Don’t invade another person’s privacy and personal space. You don’t want others to invade your privacy either. So have the courtesy to ask permission before taking a photo. If you are denied the privilege, don’t try to secretly sneak-in a photo, that will be a big mistake that you will surely regret.
