Or the light for that matter. The amount of daylight in Iceland is very different from what you are normally used to. During June and July, it is never dark. Basically it starts from mid-May to mid-August, but June and July really have no hours of darkness. Most tourists require a face mask to be able to sleep well during these “days.” While in December and January, it is dark from about 3:30 in the afternoon till about 11:30 in the morning. It takes some time getting used to, but should not affect your enjoyment of the place. At the very least, it is a unique experience.
