Born in Cebu City, Philippines, Maria Quiban was just 9 years old when she and her family moved to Hawaii where she continued her studies, eventually taking up journalism at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. After gaining experience at KHNL in Honolulu, she moved to Los Angeles and became the weather anchor for the Orange County Newschannel. She then joined KTTV in 2000 where she still serves as the meteorologist for Fox 11’s morning news show Good Day LA. Maria has also ventured into the world of acting, appearing in several movies and TV series such as Bruce Almighty, 24, Criminal Minds, Everybody Hates Chris, and Rake, mostly portraying the role of a reporter.
