The current meteorologist for NBC News, the Los Angeles, California-born Indra Petersons is of Latvian descent and a graduate of the University of Arizona with a degree in Atmospheric Physics. A Certified Broadcast Meteorologist from the American Meteorological Society, she started her career with KVIA in Texas, then KABC in Los Angeles, but gained prominence as the weather anchor for CNN’s New Day. Indra is also a passionate traveler and adventurer, having visited around 50 countries and over 200 cities. The Latvian beauty is no stranger to danger, having married a former U.S. Marine Corps Scout Sniper from whom she takes lessons, to diving with great white sharks and having a near-death experience from a lion attack. These things she takes astride, as she reports on extreme weather not just from the studio but from the frontline as well.
