Ricky Ray Rector had a troubled childhood that led him to get caught for tons of petty crimes. Eventually those crimes escalated to the point where he would eventually shoot three people in a random incident, one of which was fatal. When his mom convinced him to turn himself in, she called a family friend who happened to be police officer named Bob Martin whom they trusted. But Rector would end up shooting Martin, killing him, then turning the gun on himself. But rather than die, doctor’s managed to save him but not without a huge cost. Most of his frontal lobe was damaged and left him “totally incompetent.”
