While there aren’t as many female serial killers as there are men, it doesn’t mean that they don’t exist. Velma Barfield was actually a wife and mother of two who was said to be in a happy marriage, despite her horrific past of abuse that she suffered at the hands of her own father. Sadly, she had a horrible back injury that required her to take pain meds, which she would end up becoming incredibly addicted to. Her addiction moved to alcohol, which supposedly made her into a different person completely. When her husband died suddenly in a fire, she married another man whom she ended up killing. Crazily, he wasn’t her last. She also went to work as a housekeeper and killed a few other men by poisoning them to death.
