One of the most publicized and popular stories to ever hit the news was that of the kidnapping of the Lindbergh baby. What was called the ‘The Crime of the Century’ was the abduction that ultimately led to Bruno Richard Hauptmann’s death. Hauptmann was responsible for abducting and killing the 1-and-a-half-year-old son of Charles and Ann Lindbergh, eventually getting caught and being convicted of his crime. Yet the whole time, he claimed he was innocent up until the day he died.
