It would seem that Gerald Lee Mitchell wasn’t exactly planning to kill anyone at first. His case was a drug deal gone bad, turning into a robbery and murder instead, considering he was quite young at the time. He claims that someone was trying to sell them marijuana but something went wrong and Mitchell pulled out a shotgun and killed the man. But what ensued after was more shooting, killing and even stealing a car. He was eventually caught because of the car he stole, and when he could see there was no way out, he decided to confess to all of his crimes.
