As the sisters detected the reluctance in Joyce’s voice, they wondered what the source of her hesitation could be. While most people were excited about trying to sell their homes, or anxious to get the task over and done with, Joyce obviously had qualms. The realtors wondered if there was something about the property that would make it difficult to sell. Was it a leaky roof, a faulty water heater, or a problem with mold or termites? Was the house in need of repairs or upgrades? Hopefully, there wasn’t an issue with the title or a death on the premises because this tended to spook potential buyers.
They could tell Joyce was trying to hide something, and while it wasn’t clear yet what the problem was, the Spizzirris were confident in their ability to sell any home, anywhere, and at any time. They were always ready to face challenges and rise to the occasion, successfully closing deals and selling homes. They were certain the next one would be no different. Quite soon though, they would find out that the house at 148 Jane Street was unlike any other property they had sold before.
