In the afternoon of what started out as an ordinary day, the phone rang, and the sisters picked up the call. On the other end of the line was a woman calling about selling a house in Toronto. This was nothing new for the two realtors who were in the business of helping people sell their homes. The woman introduced herself as Joyce, the owner of the property at 148 Jane Street.
Even though Joyce told them that she wanted to sell her home, the sisters heard some hesitation in her voice and sensed that she was not all that enthusiastic about the prospect. This wasn’t uncommon. Gladys and Carla had worked with clients who were emotionally attached to their homes and got cold feet about putting their homes on the market. But if Joyce was decided to sell, they were certainly going to do their best to help her. However, their latest client also told them something they might not be entirely prepared for.
