Farewell To Her Forever Home

As difficult as it was for Joyce to say goodbye to her home of 72 years, the 96-year-old nonagenarian was ready to move to a retirement community. She had spent a good portion of her life keeping her Jane Street home in tip-top shape, making sure it wouldn’t become a shadow of its 1950s glory, but all the work could become too demanding and exhausting, especially for someone so far along in life. Even though the lovely Joyce was still as sharp as a tack and was in full possession of all her faculties, she conceded it was time to move into an assisted living facility. It was time for someone else to take care of such a special house.
Ultimately, the house was sold. Though the purchase price was not revealed, the property is now valued at nearly a million dollars, which was the Spizzirris’ initial estimate. The kitchen has since been remodeled, and the pink décor was replaced with more neutral colors. With any luck, the new owner would retain at least some of the distinctive charm that made 148 Jane Street an internet sensation.
