Toronto’s Old Mill neighborhood was one of the most desirable areas in the city. It was an ideal community for families because of its extensive grounds and a myriad of recreational activities. It also boasted of many special landmarks, such as the ruins of the Old Mill, which made for a captivating backdrop for the Old Mill Restaurant, the Old Mill bridge, and the Humber River which flows alongside Etienne Brule Park. The river, teeming with salmon swimming upstream to spawning grounds, is the perfect setting for fishing enthusiasts and curious onlookers. The area also housed the historic Old Mill Inn and Spa known for its famous Thanksgiving buffet, sumptuous Sunday brunch, and exquisite family dinner.
Having been realtors in the city for many years, the Spizzirri sisters were well aware of everything the neighborhood had to offer. Based on the Jane Street house’s size and location alone, their initial calculations placed the property’s estimated value at $968,000. On the other hand, they were expecting that number to drop based on the condition of the house and the extent of repairs required.
