His Man Cave

History Nut

When Joyce and her husband moved into their Jane Street home in 1942, her husband had given her permission to decorate every room however she wanted to, but with one exception—there should be nothing pink in the master bedroom. While Joyce happily decorated every inch of their brand-new home, she presented her husband more than just a pink-free master bedroom. She gave her husband his very own man cave in the basement.
Joyce understood that her doting husband needed his personal manspace that was far from feminine, so she converted the basement into a stunning den with its own fireplace. Designed with more neutral colors and a wood-paneled wet bar, it was the perfect place for her husband to unwind with a drink. It seemed Joyce’s husband had spent most of his time in the mantuary whenever he was at home. The place was kept in great shape just like the rest of the house.
