A Feminine Touch

Wazimo

As Joyce took Gladys and Carla on a tour through her home, the sisters’ initial astonishment at stepping back in time wore off, and they realized something—the furnishings were overwhelmingly feminine. They appreciated how much care and thought their client had visibly put into decorating every room with metallic and pastel wallpaper, matching curtains and carpets, upholstered dining and seating sets, gold trimmings, and floral patterns. But while the Jane Street house had definitely benefited from a woman’s touch, the sisters suspected they might have a potential problem as male buyers might find the décor a hindrance. Even though the 92-year-old had shied away from using bright colors, always opting for tone-on-tone designs, most of the walls, furniture, curtains, and carpets had a distinctly dainty look to them.
While it’s possible that a future buyer may appreciate the lovely pink, purple, and gold, other prospective owners may not be interested in having to spend a fortune on making changes after the purchase. This would entail a lot of cost and would, in turn, bring down the price of the property.
