There was a time when TGI Fridays was the new attraction in town, and was packed every single day. But it isn’t what it used to be. When it opened its doors in 1965, it was the place for birthday parties, corporate lunches, dates, and casual hangouts. It was actually intended to be a singles bar, before it became kid central. But since 2015, sales have been consistently dropping. Some outlets have already closed due to this. The company is trying to rebrand their restaurant as a trendy gastropub, and redesigning their bar to be more prominent for the urbanites. Endless appetizers have also been introduced, as well as utilizing different marketing gimmicks to bring in the crowd once more. Only time will tell if they will survive 2020.
