This chain first opened its doors as Boston Chicken in 1985, as its main attraction was rotisserie chicken. But it appears the rotisserie chicken is not in demand anymore, the company has recently closed 45 of its 450 locations. Sadly, this includes the last two locations in Boston, where it was born. But many Bostonians realized that the chain had been in trouble before. It filed for bankruptcy in 1998, but was saved 2 years after by McDonald’s, the leading fast food chain. However, McDonalds bailed out in 2007, and Boston market needs to “market” itself to another savior once again. Only time will tell if they will survive 2020.
