Don’t Use Public Transport Without An OV-Chip Card

Source: https://www.holland.com/

Recently, the Dutch government scrapped the use of paper tickets on public transport such as buses, trams, and trains. The OV-Chip cards are found in ticket machines all over Amsterdam. Commuters have several options like 1 hour unlimited passes, day-long fares, or personal reusable cards. Remember you need these cards to board public transport. You will be fined heavily if you don’t have them. It also may be interpreted as you trying to skip paying. This will not go well with the authorities. Ignorance may be bliss, but not in this case. If you are not sure where to get them, ask around. Locals will be glad to help out.
