The canals are not there for drunken tourists to take a pee in. Seriously, there have been many incidents of this happening. It is illegal, and subject to a hefty fine. Besides, many drunk tourists often tip over and fall into the canal. Look for public urinals, there are plenty around. For men, they are the green stands with men’s feet sticking out, trousers around them. Ladies are better off going to toilets in restaurants, bars, even the famous “coffeeshops.” Just don’t ever pee in the canals.
