There are lots of bicycles in Amsterdam, as it’s the best way to get around, for tourists as well as locals. There are designated bike lanes, so be aware, don’t stray into the bike lane.This is very important. Know where the bike lanes are, there are signs all over. Some cyclists will slow down and ding you, but some will ride straight into you just to teach you a lesson. And should you have strayed in a bike lane and caused an accident, it will never be the bikers fault. Here, the pedestrian is at fault, as pedestrians are not allowed in these lanes. So watch out for them.
