Don’t Rely On Public Transportation

It is said that Houston is built for driving. It is such a huge city that it will take you more time getting from point A to point B, not to mention the traffic, and the term “just around the corner” might well be paraphrased to “15 minutes away.” Although public transportation is available, such as the local bus system and the METRORail, you can’t say that public transportation is a popular choice unless it’s really suited for you. Don’t look for a subway, as there is none and though the METRORail is the fastest and widely used – reported to transport more than 55,000 passengers daily (no surprise there given the population), the range isn’t really that good and doesn’t cover much ground.
