The Apollo 13 docudrama film, which won an Academy Award for Best Picture, among others, details the third moon landing mission of the U.S. where an on-board explosion jeopardized the lives of the crew played by Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon, and Bill Paxton. The phrase: “Houston, we have a problem” was delivered by Tom Hanks, who played the role of Jim Lovell in the popular 90s movie to alert NASA’s mission control of the situation. Don’t think that this is catchy or even funny, and say this out loud within earshot of Houstonians as not only has this become annoying over the years, but it’s also incorrect as it was reported to have gone on as “Okay, Houston, we’ve had a problem here.”
