Don’t Wander Around In Sunnyside

A community located south of Downtown Houston, Sunnyside has been reported as one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in the country, with a violent crime rate of 91.27 per 1,000 residents. Houston has one of the most diverse populations in the country though Sunnyside residents are predominantly black, being the oldest African American community on Houston’s south side, and they have a 1 in 11 chance of becoming a victim. There has been a lot of reported gang-related activity and car theft in the area, with a number of deaths reported in the past months, most likely resulting from gang wars that have spread in the area. As such, be wary when going to this area, especially at night.
