Indonesia is welcoming to foreigners, as a matter of fact there is a total of 169 countries that are included in their Visa Free Country List. So, if you are a citizen of any of the countries in that list, you won’t need a Visa to visit Indonesia. However, all travelers to Indonesia are required to be in possession of a Passport that is valid for at least six (6) months from the date of arrival, and have proof (tickets) of onward or return passage. This rule is according to Presidential Decree 21 of 2016 dated 2nd March 2016. If your nationality is included in the aforementioned list, you may enter Indonesia from 124 immigration checkpoints and you are granted 30 days stay that cannot be extended. If you wish to stay longer than 30 days in Indonesia, then you need to get a Visit Visa on Arrival when you arrive in Indonesia. A foreigner can only get this type of Visa if your country is one of the 68 countries on the visa-on-arrival list. A holder of a Visit Visa on Arrival is given 30 days stay and can be extended in the Immigration Office only once, in order to have another 30 days stay.
