Filipinos are generally “onion-skinned,” meaning to say over-sensitive. It is part of their culture, so be aware of what you say so as not to insult. Even jokes may not be understood particularly if it is about a Filipino trait. However, they are very friendly. They will go out of their way to try to understand you. But if they perceive your manner to be insulting, they get offended easily.
