Remember Filipinos are proud and sensitive. If you lose your temper, take time to cool down, do not flare up. The worst thing you can do is berate someone in public and embarrass them. If the person loses face they may have adverse reactions. Be patient and polite, let’s say, if bargaining with a saleslady in a shop, maybe she didn’t understand you correctly. If you seem that the conversation will go nowhere, just excuse yourself and walk away. There are bound to be plenty of other shops around. And it always pays to smile, you will be greeted equally.
