Sometime mid-year of 2006, renowned British child psychologist and expert on feral children, Lyn Fry, was the first non-Ukranian to meet with Oxana. She went with a TV crew to observe and film the girl raised by dogs. Expecting to observe an aggressive and socially inept child, Fry was pleasantly surprised that the rumors were wrong. Oxana showed signs of intelligence, a certain pleasantness about her, but there were signs of the damage caused by the years under the care of dogs. Fry noted that even while Oxana was able to communicate, her language was odd, flat, without any rhythm in her speech. But she had a sense of humor, and enjoyed making people laugh. She definitely impressed the child psychologist.
