For a documentary on Oxana by executive producer Lisa Plasco, they were able to arrange a meeting between Oxana and her estranged dad who abandoned her almost twenty years ago. There was no trace of her mother though, and no one was interested in looking for her. “We knew she very much wanted to meet him,” Plasco said, “and we facilitated that but we didn’t orchestrate it.” But Fry was anxious about how the meeting was conducted. Oxana was left standing by herself as her father, and half-sister Nina, whom she never met, walked slowly towards her. Fry admitted that it was a good idea, but very risky. Somebody should have been with Oxana, even just to hold her hand. Needless to say it was a very tense moment for all, particularly for Oxana.
