Oxana must have had the romantic notion of returning to live with her father, but the reality set in. Because of what happened to her, she would not be able to live independently, needing adult care facilities always. Her father was still living miserably, and would surely not be able to care for the daughter he abandoned. Fry doubted she would be able to live outside the institution.
