Most fans of the superhero genre know that Michael Keaton did not like his Batman costume for the Tim Burton movies. Since it was very challenging to move in that costume, on top of it being suffocating inside. Well, he wasn’t alone. Michelle Pfeiffer who took on the role of “Catwoman” in “Batman Returns” also shared her adverse feelings about her costume. In a 2017 interview with Cinema Blend, Pfeifer talked about the painstaking and exhausting process she had to go through just to be able to wear the skintight Catwoman outfit that can be seen in the movie. Pfeifer said, “It was the most uncomfortable costume I’ve ever been in. They had to powder me down, help me inside and then vacuum-pack the suit”. She would then explain in detail, “They’d paint it with a silicon-based finish to give it its trademark shine. I had those claws, and I was always catching them in things. The face mask was smashing my face and choking me… we had a lot of bugs to work out.”
It was a good thing that she was dedicated enough to complete the film. And as an additional fun fact, Michelle Pfeiffer did all of her own work with the whip in the film, she was even able to cut the heads of several mannequins in a single take. Just this April 2019, she posted on Instagram that she can still handle that whip.
