Elizabeth Montgomery was actually pregnant several times during her stint on Bewitched. Three, to be exact. Yes, she had given birth thrice. The writers wrote in two out of her three pregnancies. So, why skip on the first one? Because the actress was actually pregnant in season one of the show. Back then, they didn’t want anyone to know. Her growing belly had been covered up on screen because the people in the network thought that it inappropriate for Sam and Darrin to be expecting a baby so soon after the wedding. While the modern minds might scoff at how things went back then, it was a thing and they were extremely conservative during that time.
