This wasn’t the first novelty house that was ever preserved and sold before. In San Antonio, Texas there was a very similar bungalow that had been maintained in all its 1970s splendor just like Joyce’s. The house eventually sold for $355,000, which wasn’t close to what the realtors wanted for Joyce’s home. But they realized that they might have to lower their expectations a bit. The added plus was that their West Toronto listing boasted of much nicer interiors than the Texas one did.
